BLK Hospital

A 650-bed expansion of the landmark Dr B.L Kapoor hospital in New Delhi is another flagship project of Radiant Life Care Group. The massive expansion shall stand fifteen stories high along with four basements that accommodate mechanized parking stacks, support services along with an elaborate Radiation Oncology department with a lineup of four state-of-the-art radiation accelerators.

The new tower comprises a generous forty thousand square feet floor plate with 19high speed elevators for a seamless operation on the planning front. Due to the lack of space at the site, the new development abuts the existing block creating a multi-height atrium that gets sandwiched between the old and the new. The airy central courtyard has been designed as a 'Japanese Zengarden' with a play of levels, greenery and a small water body. Similarly, the refuge area at the fifth-floor level has been immaculately landscaped into a healing garden that fosters well-being amongst the inpatients. Furthermore, the large green patch adjacent to the emergency and the outpatient departments is designed as a therapeutic healing garden that attempts to lift and revitalize the minds of the patient and the relative. The large windows ensure optimum daylight and regulated indoor air quality. BLK Hospital's design is a holistic consequence of the principle of healing architecture, elaborating on social sustainability.
