LIVASA HOSPITAL

This 400-bed hospital is conceived as a brownfield redevelopment, where existing infrastructure is strategically reused and transformed to create a contemporary healthcare facility. This approach reduces construction impact, optimizes resources, and enables faster project delivery while maintaining high functional standards.

The design rethinks the conventional hospital experience, particularly at the point of arrival. A well-defined entrance sequence and articulated façade establish a welcoming and reassuring identity, moving away from the typically rigid and institutional character of healthcare buildings.

Planning is centered around clarity and connectivity. Two primary hospital blocks are linked through a continuous circulation spine, improving movement and accessibility across departments. This not only enhances operational efficiency but also simplifies navigation for patients and visitors.

A strong emphasis is placed on biophilic design. Landscaped courts, green buffers, and access to natural light are integrated throughout the facility, especially within patient areas. These elements contribute to a calmer, more humane environment, supporting patient recovery while improving overall spatial quality.

The project demonstrates how adaptive reuse, when combined with thoughtful planning and environmental sensitivity, can deliver a healthcare facility that is both efficient and experientially rich.
